The fragrance opens with a sharp, invigorating jolt. Mineral salmiak salt hits first—crisp and almost electric—then black pepper cracks through, softened by a cool, green whisper of anise. It instantly recalls the sensation of ripping open a packet of Finnish salmiakki on a chilly afternoon. As it develops, the scent grows warmer and more intricate. Liquorice root unfolds at the heart, joined by immortelle’s distinctive bittersweet, caramel-edged depth. Cedar provides a quiet, woody backbone underneath. In the base, the composition truly takes hold. Myrrh intensifies the sweetness into something rich, resinous, and almost archaic, while cade, birch, and guaiac wood weave in a cool, smoky campfire character. Vetiver grounds everything with its steady, earthy presence. The overall impression is salted liquorice reimagined as smoke and shadow.
